You Are Not Overlooked
"But now this is what the Lord says, the Lord who created you, O Jacob, the Lord who formed you, O Israel. Do not be afraid, because I have redeemed you. I have called you by name. You are mine. When you cross through the waters, I will be with you. When you cross the rivers, they will not sweep you away. When you walk through fire, you will not be burned, and the flame will not set you on fire. Because I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior, I gave Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious and honored in my eyes, and I myself love you, I will give people in exchange for you, and peoples in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, because I am with you. From the east I will bring your offspring, and from the west I will gather you." Isaiah 43:1-6 (EHV)
The Desire to Be Loved
Everyone wants love. We all desire it, and that’s completely normal. It doesn’t mean we’re needy or desperate; it means we long to be accepted and appreciated. But as time goes on, people’s love can fade. Pride creeps in. Some start to look down on you, mock you, or speak against you, making you question your worth. Trust me, I’ve been there. I still have those moments.
Learning to Run to God
One thing I’ve been doing, especially during my contest prep, is spending more time with God. I don’t share it on social media because my relationship with Him is personal. It's sacred. But through that quiet time, I’ve learned something powerful: No matter what I face, I can always run to Him with my fears, struggles, goals, doubts, and even the desires I keep hidden.
And the beautiful thing? He wants to hear from me. He never grows tired of my prayers, even when they’re about the same things. It’s better to bring the same concern to God a hundred times than to stop bringing it altogether.
When I Tried to Fit In
When I started MPM Fitness, I tried to fit in. I wanted to be “the next fitness influencer,” hoping that would bring growth and success. It didn’t. I made some sales, but the income wasn’t consistent. Frustration and anxiety crept in. I felt overlooked, unseen, and undervalued, even after changing my focus to coaching natural bodybuilders and lifestyle clients.
I’ll be honest, I almost gave up. I even found a full-time job. But deep down, I knew my passion for fitness and bodybuilding wasn’t random; it was God-given. I felt it was my calling. So I took a leap of faith, left that job, and moved to part-time so I could invest more into my business and walk in what God called me to do.
Obedience Over Visibility
The outcome hasn’t been perfect. Money is tight. Growth feels slow. And yes, I still feel overlooked sometimes. But even in that, I’ve learned something life-changing. Obedience matters more than visibility.
Putting God at the center doesn’t make things easier; it makes things real. It exposes your motives, strengthens your character, and reminds you who you truly serve.
Pouring Out My Heart
There are days I write to God in my prayer journal; my fears, frustrations, and doubts laid out in ink. As I continue reading Psalms, I see that David did the same. He felt overlooked, too. He questioned, cried, and pleaded. Yet God never abandoned him. His love stayed constant. His presence stayed near. Scripture even says He collected David’s tears, just like He does with mine and yours.
Ten Promises to Remember
Now, look again at Isaiah 43:1-6. These are God’s words. Not just to Israel, but to you and me:
- “Don’t be afraid.”
- “I have redeemed you.”
- “I have called you by name.”
- “You are mine.”
- “I will be with you.”
- “I am your God.”
- “Your Savior.”
- “You are precious and honored in my eyes.”
- “I love you.”
- “I will give others in exchange for you.”
These aren’t just ancient promises; they’re living truths. God is saying: You are not overlooked. You are not forgotten. You are not unworthy.
Look Up
I know it can be hard to believe that sometimes. I struggle with it too. Writing this doesn’t mean I have it all figured out because I don’t. I’m still learning, growing, and being refined. But remembering these truths keeps me moving forward, even when progress feels slow.
So today, my encouragement to you is this: Look up. Remember that God knows your name. You are redeemed, chosen, and loved. You are a child of the King, an heir to His Kingdom.
He is your God, whether you believe it right now or not, and He will always be with you. You are His. You are precious and honored in His eyes, and He loves you more than you can imagine.
Don’t forget this. Save it. Screenshot those ten truths. Read them often, and talk to Him. Not out of religion, but from a relationship. Be honest. Be real. Because whatever you’re carrying, He can handle it.
